Schaefers has been a part of two separate internships with Aspen Film; one for their Film Camp program and the other with the 35th Aspen Shortsfest.

With the film camp, Schaefers taught children how to make films in both animation and live action, resulting in about a dozen short films per camp.

And with Aspen Shortsfest, Schaefers researched interviewees and recorded Q&A sessions, as well as assisting with a No Film School podcast episode.
